Meet Dr. Robert Nisson

Dr. Nisson

– Dr. Robert (Bob) Nisson was born and raised in California. Dr. Nisson was always very adept with his hands as a child. While he was in Jr. High School, Dr. Nisson assisted his father, LeRoy Nisson, DDS, (who was a dentist to many movie stars, including Marilyn Monroe, Howard Hughes, and Ginger Rogers), by frequently constructing orthodontic models. Helping his dad in this way developed his interest in Dentistry.

Dr. Nisson attended high school in Granada Hills, California. Upon graduation in 1979, Dr. Nisson chose to attend Dixie College in St. George, UT. During the first year in college, Dr. Nisson was the Freshman Class president and participated in drama and theatrical productions. Between the years of 1980-1982 Dr. Nisson served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Alberta, Canada.

After his return in 1982, Dr. Nisson returned to Dixie College and received an Associate’s Degree in Science. Following graduation from Dixie College, Dr. Nisson attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he continued to excel and work hard in school. Wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps, Dr. Nisson then applied and was accepted into the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Nisson applied himself to his studies and enjoyed the clinical side of dentistry the most. Tooth Morphology and Dynamics of Occlusion were favorite subjects of Dr. Nisson. Frequently, you could find him carving teeth long into the night. Dr. Nisson was involved in politics in dental school and was selected as a student representative to the American Dental Association. This was a wonderful opportunity to travel to many cities and visit other dental schools and observe students round the country. Also, during his junior year at USC, Dr. Nisson had the privilege to be selected as 1 of 3 students who could perform sedation or twilight sleep on patients. This experience allowed him to become proficient to administer drugs to patients and help his patients overcome the anxiety of dental procedures.

In 1988 Dr. Nisson married and following his graduation from USC dental school in 1989, moved to Boulder City, Nevada. After one year, Dr. Nisson opened and established Warm Springs Dental in Henderson, Nevada. After founding Warm Springs Dental, Dr. Nisson was very pleased to have his former USC classmates and close friends, Dr. Timpson and Dr. Newton join his practice. Expanding by opening Anthem Village Dental has provided additional opportunity to serve the Henderson community.

Dr. Nisson lives in Henderson with his wife, Virginia. They have four wonderful children. He is very involved with his church where he currently volunteers as a Scoutmaster having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout himself. In his spare time, Dr. Nisson likes to water-ski, travel, garden, and landscape, take his son to USC games, and spend time with his family.

Meet Dr. Corry Timpson

Dr. Corry Timpson
– Hello, I’m Dr. Corry Timpson. I was born & raised in a small town in Utah, Spanish Fork. After graduation from Spanish Fork High School, I attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. I interrupted my undergraduate education for two years to serve a mission for my church in the Netherlands, Amsterdam Mission. Following my return, I completed my studies at USU and received my Bachelor of Science in 1985, in Pre-Dental Biology. That fall I entered Dental School and graduated with the Class of 1989 from the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry.

While at USC in Dental School, I was given what I would say was the best dental education one could receive. I was able to serve as a preclinical Teachers assistant in the restorative classes for the underclassmen. I was selected to a focused study group, where I was able to study at the feet of real pioneers in Rehabilitative Dentistry, and gained greater clinical experience in highly advanced dental cases.

When the time came to graduate in 1989, I was honored with being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (the Honorary Dental Society), having graduated in the top 10% of my class, (#6 of 120). Thanks to my brilliant professors and mentors, and from my outstanding clinical experiences, I was given two special awards at graduation. I was given the Excellence in Prosthodontics Senior Award bestowed by the California Section of the American College of Prosthodonsists. This award is given for restorative and rehabilitative dentistry. Secondly, I was also awarded by the USC School of Dentistry the Charles S. Pincus Award for excellence in Cosmetic/Aesthetic Dentistry.

Following Graduation, I was flattered to be asked by one of my Professors to join him in his practice in Santa Monica, California. While practicing in California, I was able to stay involved at the USC Dental School by working one day per week as a pre-clinical instructor, teaching the student’s operative and restorative dentistry before they began treating patients. I was able to continue teaching until I joined Dr. Nisson at Warm Springs Dental and moved my family to Henderson, NV in 1994.

Moving to Henderson has been one of the smartest decisions I could have made. Raising our children, Natalie, Cameron, and Alyssa, my wife and I have been greatly blessed by this community. Having our children attend and graduate from our Henderson Schools has been outstanding. I have also been privileged to be active in my local church and served as an assistant Scoutmaster in our local Boy Scouts Troop, having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Highlighting it all has been practicing in our two offices with my best friends, Dr. Nisson and Dr. Newton. We have been able to surround ourselves with the greatest and most caring dental team, thus providing outstanding and professional treatment to the wonderful people who call this community home.

Meet Dr. Todd Newton

Dr. Todd Newton

– Hello, my name is Dr. Todd Newton. I was born in Arcadia, California in 1962. After High School graduation, I attended the University of California at Irvine where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences upon graduation in 1984. I then attended the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry, Class of 1988.

During my four years as a Dental Student at USC, I enjoyed a few earned privileges. As a sophomore, I was asked to be a preclinical teacher’s assistant (also known as a TA) and continued helping instruct Freshman Dental Students for my remaining 3 years. Another privilege was being selected as one of 6 students into a clinically advanced selective for treatment of full mouth rehabilitation cases with two dedicated instructors.

Upon graduation in 1988, I received a few awards. As a graduating student in the top 10% of my class (#9 of 130), I was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary fraternity. I also accumulated the top grade average for Operative Dentistry competence exams, thus earning the Rex Ingram award for excellence in Operative Dentistry. During my clinical experience at USC, I always fabricated all of my patient’s crowns and bridges (both porcelain and gold) and I believe that helped me to receive the Charles S. Pincus award for excellence in Cosmetic/Aesthetic Dentistry. The most rewarding recognition however, was being appointed to the staff of Clinical Instructors, where I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to teach the junior and senior dental students on actual patients on the school’s clinic floor. As a matter of fact, I continued to teach one day a week for nine years while maintaining my own private practice in Arcadia, California until moving to Henderson, Nevada and joining the Warm Springs Dental practice and to be co-founder of Anthem Village Dental.

During nine years of private practice in Arcadia I was also very involved in the Community. I was involved in the local Rotary International Club, eventually leaving as a Past President and Paul Harris Fellow. I also found a great deal of satisfaction serving in the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce for almost 4 years, only to turn down an Executive Director position due to the move here to Nevada. I worked with the local elementary schools for early dental habit instructor and also with the local senior center with annual health fair screenings.

I know in my heart that moving to Henderson, NV and joining with partners Dr. Nisson and Dr. Timpson was the right thing to do. Being a husband, father, and football/baseball/basketball coach with two sons Tyler and RJ, has kept me more than busy when not directly involved in building our two dental practices. At both practices I have the honor to provide the highest level of Dental treatment in the manner I was trained to do as an individual, yet collect the benefits of professional input and deep friendship from Dr. Nisson and Dr. Timpson and our caring, handpicked and long term staff as a business partner
